I finally...
...got myself a propper home! It's a flat on Grünerløkka, so after ten years I'm back there. Im sharing the appartment with two others. I haven't met the guy, but the girl seemed nice. She is an artstudent and a bartender, so we have at least that in common. Is gonna be swell having a shower again:) The room isn't that big, but there is a pretty big livingroom, and a block away from my favourite park in town. The rent was ok as well, 3250,- incl. elecricity and net-connection. So as long as I get along with the others this should be grand!

wow, it's "early"...

...morning and I've awaken, risen from bed, and now even trying not to neglect my blog! Pretty braindead, but amazingly fit. Yesterday was slow and nice. Cleaned up some light-tech mess at work, and after dinner on fyret I ended up on the zoom-06 concert at garage with Øystein and Terje. Although I didn't see much of the concerts it was a pretty decent night out, and I managed to get home straight from garage(!). Giving my credit-card house-arrest seems like a pretty good idea after all; and from now on I'll treat it hellish with monthly groundings:)
The search for a new home is starting to get fruitful, had the rumor out on town wich has resulted in a few offers. As this is kind of nice, as it's kinda hard finding housing here at times, I'm realizing if I'm gonna be able to get my stuff with me I'll need to pay a pretty (after my standards) "high" rent. So this guy needs to make a budget:O Damned, I've managed to act pretty irresonsible for 29yrs, and now this aera seems gone. It'll be the first time I live somewhere legally since I was 19, if I'm not able to make a new scheme in a month... hmm, gotta twitch my head on this one. Legal housing could be described in other words; I'm gonna have to start, at least pretend, being an adult...

It's amazing...
...how many freaks that are able to drop by during an hour... Last night was a pretty calm one. At first there was this literature thingey called "windowshopping". The concept is pretty interesting, as it is seen as an opponent to the commercializing of the public space, by instaling art in "unused" spaces. Spaces that don't fall into the category of money earning, and is therefore left empty. This part of it was useing empty shops projecting litterature on the wall, viewable from the outside for passersby. It's a cool project, but to hear the same text beeing read loud doesn't make the same impact....
After that Low frequency in stereo was playing. A very good (indie)-rock band from norway. As I was working in the bar, it was kind of hard to follow the concert as much as I wanted, but they are playing at Blå on the 1st of april.
Then about two'o'clock things turned weird; an african guy so drunk he poured he's beer over his head trying to blame some mysterious guy disappearing into the lavy, then tried to steal a new beer from another guest, so I told him he had to go, and followed him to the back entrance. Then he turns around and I expected a quarrel for throwing him out, he gives me a huge hug! After that a guy from my high-school days, was totally and utterly out on booze and something else, starts to make himself the next get-the-hell-out-of-here target. Then at the same time, a guy I used to know, now a junkie, falls in through the door utterly wasted falling half-unconcious while eating pizza. After he's tossed out, this guy from high-school makes a number again. So a few diplomatic attempts wich prooved to fail and another girl falling around too drunk, me and Merete had to take care of one each. Man, I should check my connections, why do I know all these people? Then there's suddenly some noise from the mensroom (its about two squaremeters in total...) and I find five guys in there, two in a fight on the floor. How the heck is that possible?!? It's to small to be four guys in there, and how they managed this is a mystery to me. After a few secs we had them parted and got them out one after another...
Gotta head for some breakfast....

This mean machine...

...called me has been on high speed and total overdrive; wich means again no posting in about a week (thanks for reminding me bunny george). So, now its tuesday morning and almost sober, in a weird turning into hung-over mode I'll try to summarize last week. Not an easy task as there has been loads of stuff going on...
Monday 27th; Tilly and the wall
Some how pretty shaked up after cleaning out all my childhood stuff at mom's and then the very spookey concert (still not able to find any of it on the net, dcver), I went to Mono to grab a beer. As I met up with Njål and Gunnar, I suddenly remembered that Tilly and the wall was playing at rock bottom, a very nice indie-pop band from the states. So me and Njål went to the gig. The band had no drummer, but used a stepper instead, wich were placed on a podium next to the two female singers. This was the first concert where the band hadn't been the support band, and after abuot 30 mins they seemed pretty insecure on what to do, but they played a full hour, and it was great! You can check their own blog here, and listen to their songs over here. And my favorite "nights of the living dead". The band was supposed to play at mono but there had been some double booking, and the band ended up on the "wrong" stage, in my oppinion...
Tuesday 28th; Ornand Altenburg
Working as band contact for Ornand Altenburg Trio, a pretty good band, but not entirely up my alley, so I wont write about them. Afterall a nice evening without the huge events.... Man this part became boring:)
Wednesday 1st; My first day as booking guy and Beezewax on stage
As my boss (the one doing the booking) has left for a festival in Canada, I was supposed to step in and do the stuff he usually does. It suddenly occured to me why the guy is allways busy on some phone or mail, and now I became this guy. Hundreds of small details production and tour managers are concerned about, fixing everything to get the concerts going, loads of info and deals wich at least has two or three other guys involved, and making sure that stuff is being done. After two days I'd spend more time on the phone than I usually do in a month... This night was a showcase for Beezewax, a kind of emoish pop band wich has existed for years with different constallations. The concert went well except the start where I suddenly had to be at three places at the same time; the stage, behind the lights, and fetching guys who was supposed to be on stage. With the place filled to the brim, it was a pretty improbable project, but after the concert both the band and audience seemed pretty pleased. My credit card at work exceeds 600NOK...Thursday 2nd; Johnossi, Serena Maneesh, and I hate guitar amps,
This day started out with the band coming to early, this was no problem as I started ealier as well. After a coffee the band was asking for beer; at last some real rockers! (Lately the artists haven't even drunk up the beercase brought to their dissposal...). Johnossi, a very loud swedish duo, proved to be really nice guys as we sat around waiting for the guitar amp, chit-chating about this and that. When the amp finally came, it prooved, after half an hour to be of no use; no reverb... So I had to fetch another asap. I finally got hand on one wich arrived about 5 mins too late to have an ordinary soundcheck, and this also prooved to be worthless to the guitarist, so about four I finally got a suitable amp. After that the band played smooth, but loud as hell. Check it out here. So, as if that wasn't enough ear-beating, serena maneesh was playing at John Dee, the concert was sold out, but I managed to get a pass from Eivind in the twelveth hour:) I my eyes the band delivered grand, but the sound was too low, so it lost some of the aspects of that beatuful noise. The light "show" was total crap, Two of the bandmembers didnt even get a ray of light during the entire concert. After that I had to finish up at work, and taste some of that fernet branca.... My creditcard exceeds 1000NOK....Friday 3rd; Total day off...(almost)
Played "office at home" a few hours to sort out next week, and then got lost in the world of warcraft. Not a toenail outside the door:)
Staurday 4th; uh....
Whatever happened on saturday, I think I need help to remember... Think I hit town a bit too early...
Sunday 5th; Insanely tired, and moving mom
Damned, I had serious difficulties sleeping last night. Dead broke and tired as fuck I was going out to nesodden to help my mom pack her stuff. She's into a really heavy depression as she has sold her house and is moving to an appartment on the other side of the peninnsula. We managed to do quite a bit, but what is frightening is that she's throwing everything away. It's kind of weird; old stuff that have been in the familly for centuries, and she suddenly don't want them anymore. Even some of the things my Grand(x3)grand father built in the 18th century. I know she wants a "fresh" start from my used-to-be stephfather, but why getting rid of this other things. Even an old cabinet she has had in her room/home since birth. Though I lack the room for them, I had to bring them home, just to take care of them. So I'm twisting and turning my home trying to make some room... I really like the things, but I think it's some strange behaviour from mom, and I can't get rid of the thought that something is wrong. I know she concidered suicide before, but that was during some turbulent period about ten years ago, and then we talked about it. Now she's got a new job she likes, enjoys being a grandmother to my niese, have a more active social life than the last 20 years, and it seems everything is heading for the better, but I still got this uneasy feeling...
Monday 6th; Opening at work wonder wether tonights artist will show up
Got some amounts of sleep, actually almost twelve hours. Dreamed shitloads of weird stuff after the packing session yesterday. So pretty tired from too much sleep, I opened at work, wich prooved to be a slack one. Not even a rush before nine. Geoff Berner, the whiskey rabbi, was playing. After being unable to reach him to agree on soundcheck times, and stuff, I still havent spoken to him when the clock past nine... So when I was about to call up Mir and ask if he was there drinkin whiskey, he finally arrived to deliver a grand show:) By now my creditcard has got itself house-arrest throughout the month for intollerable and abusive behaviour...
Today; Playing "home office" again
Had a slow start, sorting out some booking details, and discovering some new skills my mailaccout claim to have achieved. A slight headache after yesterdays concert. Anyhow, I'm tired of writing, and have to clean up after re-furnishing the home...

decided not to...

...blogg while drunk, and I'm doing it again... (viking; I totally agree on your latest comment so I withdrew the whole statement as I was drunk and got upset over the news when I came from town; I totally agree with you... Thats the censorship...but I still need a good illustration for my point...)
Today has been quite a day; I worked untill like five this morning, drank untill eight, took the boat to my mom and slept for four hours untill awakened by a shovel of snow being tossed into my bed by my younger brother, with my elder brother grinning in the background. The occasion was that my mother is moving these days, and we had to come along to clean up her loft; or rather being part of what to throw and what to keep since like we where born. A pretty weird experience, as memories I've filed under "temp files" or "deleteable once", came along with the amusement of loads of nice things I've just filed wrong during the years and really want to keep and bring with me further in life. I managed to be somewhat strict as I ended up with one box; half memories and half useable stuff. It was a pretty demanding experience no matter what...
After that I went to another chapter in the "pönk" series at work. It's not punk, but jazz we are talking about. As I lost the first part of the concert with Håkon Kornstad Solo, I came just as the first song of Anders Hana/Per Zanussi/Morten Qvenlid started. I couldn't quite follow the concert untill the second "song", so I think I lost abit, but the concert was perfect for today, and even weirder than unpacking and sorting all my childhood memories. The trio played experimental noise, I thought, but after a while a pattern seemed to merge, and I got the impression that they wanted it to sound like casual jamming and incidents, but after listening I got one clear view, I don't know if the musicians agree with it, but I think they have really spend time studying this. This is probably coloured by my childhood flash backs earlier today, but;
- I think these guys went back to the entertainment industry in total; music, movies and computer games.
- I think these guys went way back to find both their amusements and fun as kids, as well as what scared the shit out of them.
- I think they combined point 2 very delibrately, to create some hell of scary shit.
The songs, or rather numbers, played was filled with scary sounds and, at times, tunes from horror movies(they didn't rip these), but it sounded like the sum of all nightmares I had after watching movies from childhood, but then again, I might be coloured by todays events. Then they suddenly turned this over into a cacaphony of what may sound like standing in the coolest game-arcade in the late eighties/early ninties hearing all the sounds at the same level (the bass was playing the shooting games, some flipper machine was at work, and at the same time the organ was plaing nintendo or anything else like supermario, while there was some "game over"-like, sad soundtrack underneath), then to suddenly switch into somehing that sounded like an old cassette-tape unable to play, sounding like something played backwards, just to turn over into a total scary experience again... Experiencing the shining, the ring, and the grudge, while watching white noise and dreaming of my childhood wet-dream of disneyland; all at the same time... Exelent and scary!

met that...

...blind-dategirl again yesterday, or she seeked me out at work... Øystein knocks on my shoulder and says that make-out-girl of yours wanna talk to you. Totally smashed with whiskey all over, as a hole bottle had leaked in her purse, she just say hi, and stares for a while, before stating she wants to make out(!). I give her a hug and try to explain -hey, I'm at work here and you are totally smashed out. But she wont listen, and tries to make out, so escaping her attempt and trying to talk to her, she just kept on...I suddenly had shitloads of important tasks to do in uttermost haste. How am I supposed to react to that?!? Hopefully she won't remember, or she'll have serious nerves today. This "thing" is getting weirder every time I see that girl, haha!
Anyhow, at last, I required myself a functional sewing-machine again. So I'm hopefully able to patch some of my worn out clothes, and sew some new ones. It's about time since half my wardrobe is stuck in tromsø since by:Larm and the rest could really use some stiches...

It seems I've got...
...to find a new housing scheme. Got a little white envelope on the door the other day telling us that we have not rented this place as a home but as a studio... Kind of weird since we rented it for the last five years or so. The letter was kind of split, so I'm not sure if the actually want us to move out, or if they just want to make a formal statement as to write of their responsibility if something should happen. The weird part was that the letter started and ended with how happy they were about us renting the place, then a point that the ventilation had to be on at all times (wich it is...) so cigarette smoke wouldn't go upstairs... Then the little point on housing, and then again a thingey on how satisfied they were with us as tenants. Not sure where they are heading with this, but we might as well start looking for something new (and both they and us know that they are gonna have a hell of a time finding new tenants) as it is pretty tireing living with a may-happen-or-not eviction hanging over our heads. Anyhow, if anyone know of a suitable studio, preferably with shower and kitchen and at least two rooms for a decent amount, please give a whistle...
Friday was a pretty calm day at work, as the Peter Berry & The Shake Set were playing. Another one of those retro-sixties bands, wich seems to be the thing these days. Not my cup of tea, but Petter and Beatles wore huge grinns.... The place was stuffed, but the crowd was more up to dancing than pushing us around behind the bar. No huzzle, no nada, and a decent tip:)
Saturday was KP's 30th birthday, so I went to the birthdayparty at Taxi takeaway wich is, as opposed to the name, a new and rather good "punkish" or rather "underground" place. The name is taken from the old kebab-kitchen, and perhaps it's just easier to keep than making a new one, or even making a new sign. Nice party with loads of people I rarely see anymore. I also, at last, got to meet Erlend's "new" girlfriend wich was nice as well...
Kobert, a jazzband formed at the music-academy in trondheim, was playing on sunday. There was quite an audience as there had been no advertisement in advance, and the band seemed happy. At times the music seemed playful, and every now and then it went over into Björk territory, and then returned into more standard jazz. The band were solid musicians and delivered good, only bad is that, in my eyes, it got boring at times, but that singer was totally gorgeous... Drool.Anyhow, put up some new songs from monodelica, and then added some below, enjoy!
- Pretty girls make graves; "the nocturnal house" from élan vital wich is released on april the 11th.
- Mates of state; "fraud in the 80's" from this years bring it back album
- The diggs; "trouble everyday" from last decembers Orange

Wow, its been...
...ten days already!?! Well time has spinned pretty fast lately but now I've ended up at home not moving a toenail outside since sunday. Spend the last two days with grand costume movies and escapeing through the world of warcraft, trying to detox my earthly remains... As you can guess there's been another festival:)
This time it was by:Larm in Tromsø, loads of bands, loads of more or less known faces,
some food and loads of beer. The highlight, for my part was Animal Alpha, wich I saw two times, meeting Richard Hell (television, Richard Hell and the voidoids), The white birch, and ping. The program was filled with concerts I didn't managed to attend as I was working for the festival newspaper, so I had pretty much to reach over during the evenings. But on the other hand, it was good to have something to hang my fingers on; else it might have been shorter evenings; drinking beer too fast and early topping it with some fernet branca and swoothc out into nowhere... And , just an advice; It's very clever to have a proper housing arrangement (or at least a half desent one and batteries on your cell phone) in advance going to a "city-festival", espescially in wintertime... This festival in Tromsø has been the best festival I've attended in a city centre, Tromsø is small, but still has a huge amount of pubs and scenes in a fairly small area, it tok about a 5 min. walk between the two most distant stages. And be sure to have good time for airport security if you have to transport a 35cm plexi-glas sylinder with loads of wire and something that looks like a detonation device in your backpack insisting on bringing it inside the cabin:)
Ok, I'll try to summarize from last sunday;

- Sunday 5th; Well, was pretty hung over from work, abit tired and pretty curious on who
it was I had agree to date on the Death cab concert. So after a Fernet and a beer I went over to Rockefeller, and met up with Børge, and... of course a perifere friend of both my ex and a friend of my flatmates ex! Haha, not a big city:) So as that was kind of not gonna happen, but it was a decent concert (I've had a few difficulties in actually likeing the band, something is very good, but there is a hatch somewhere...), and after we drank some whiskey at cacadou, and ended up sneaking in front of the line at work. Afterall a nice evening. - Monday 6th; As I didn't attend the heroes for zeroes concert, and nothing really happened this day I'll clear up the note to self about not stealing a ladder
before dateing, from the last post. This was my first blind-date, and happened a week before I started blogging I think. Anyhow, this date was like a return favour for a friend who had been on a date with a friend of this girl, so I was supposed to meet her at an indian resturant at eight o'clock or something. Then half past seven, I suddenly get a call from ----- informing me that there is a ladder located ----- , and that I should fetch it and bring it to Blitz as we needed a ladder there the next day; or I needed a ladder to finish some outside decoration's I had been coordinating while barricading the building... Anyhow, after being over 45mins late, and the girl just sending people in front of her in the resturant line for a while I arrived with the very bad excuse; "sorry I'm late, but I had to steal a ladder first..." - Tuesday 7th; I was working as band contact for the swedish version of Ane Bun; Nina Kinert. The day was pretty calm, and to everybodys big surprice the concert actually drew about 80-100 people. Not bad as loads of people in the audience had never even heard of her before...
- Wednesday 8th; This day started out pretty slow, but went pretty eventful during
the evening. The Cheaters, The Jessica Fletchers and The Goo Men was playing, and I was working as band contact. As for the last band mentioned, this can be a pretty hazzardious, not to mention fun, experience. After rescuing the band from some self-made deathtraps by removing empty glasses and other impliments of destructions from the stage, leadsinger Arnt almost succeeded in his second attempt to demolish a light bulb over the bar, and I had to run like hell to recover the instruments Gunnar had forgot to bring on stage. Sorry, to The Jessica Fletchers; I owe you a tamburine:) - Thursday 9th; Woke up with the phone, realizing I had 5 mins to pack, before picking
up THE by.Larm price. I was supposed to bring the sculpture itself, as it had failed to get to Tromsø earlier, and so this guy who's gonna hand it over called to tell me he was abit late; perfect! So luckily, as Goo men's taxi was set to arrive 15mins later than expecpted, I managed to get myself to the airport in time. Pretty fucked up after a few beers and 3 hours sleep I went to the security gate, with the contents of my bag looking like a pretty sophisticated terrorist wetdream. After some very long cheeks and pretty disturbings signals from the guys surveilancing the x-ray machine, I was taken aside to take of my shoes and opening the parcel while thoroughly explaining what it was, I was able board. After arriving Tromsø, checked in, and assigned the concerts I was reveiwing that night, I suddenly sat in some kind of vacum. Not being able to get my luggage to the place I was sleeping, and with everyone else busy or laxing, I felt totally "lost in translation", just hanging around killing time, unable to rest. So after about five hours of wandering the very small citycentre, tasteing some mackøl(beer) at blårock (a very nice rockclub, with one of the greatest poster-collections ever!!!), I finally got started. I was reviewing Draumir, some popish thingey ala Velvet Belly and Ellysian Fields in a more modern wrapping. Then I was at The captian and me; undescribeable hill-billy thingey meets all kinds of folk music, and at the end Ping, who is a cascade of modern music history from Mike patton, via country to pantera; say no more. Finally in about 02.00 I managed to get to bed, somewhat tired I guess... - Friday 10th; Got up pretty early, and attended a meeting at one on what to do during the day; I got assign on Quasimojo, Animal Alpha, Brut Boogaloo, and The Fernets. This, at first looked pretty rough as animal alpha started at 2300, brut boogaloo on a different stage at 23.30 and the fernets on the other side of the city centre at 00.00. And then there was deadline at 01.00! Whats a boy supposed to do? So
I took it pretty slack untill I got this phonecall from our editor telling me I had an hour to prepare for an interview with Richard Hell at Rica hotel. -With who?!? -Richard Hell, from Television, and Richard Hell and the voidoids... -Uh, ok... The only worse thing to interview, hung over without having breakfast yet, would have been Thurston Moore and me giggeling like a 14 year old girl... Anyhow, the guy seemed really nice, and not very eager to talk about music at all. He rather wanted to talk about how much religion sucked, and loads about his writing.... Rest of day went smooth, and the Animal Alpha concert was this festivals highlight:) - Saturday 11th; Woke up under the desk in our press office, with a hotel-maid asking if I could move so she
could clean up. Totally bewildered I got to my feet trying to gain concious; after copeing I remembered that I was unable to reach my "host" after a pretty decent nachspiel in one of the hotelrooms with a bottle of cognac and three cases of beer... Shrug! Anyhow saturday was our day off, so it was slacking at blårock all day until The White Birch went on stage at the VG-tent in the central square. Grand concert! After that I went down to see Animal Alpha again, great this time as well, before heading to the lobbybar to celebrate our accomplished newspaper project; free bar this time! After that it all went more blurry, I saw a few concerts, tried to reach the guy I was sleeping at, and.... total blank.... - Sunday 12th; Deja-vu; woke up under the desk in our press office, with
a hotel-maid (the very same from yesterday!) asking (somewhat more asstonished than last morning) if I could move so she could clean up, but then changeing her mind stateing she could do it later, and asking if I knew how long we would use the offices. -Uh, I utter trying to cope agian; -actually I don't... Discovering that I didn't know how I got there at all. The rest of the day went on trying to get my stuff from my host's appartment, but after a few hours and still no luck I decided to resign this project and spend the day laxing at blårock, with some nice baguettes and beers, awaiting my evening flight....

yesterdays...

...concert was really cozy, perhaps with the exception of christian trying to freak out the band by shouting nazi-band and so on (hehe:P). I think they delivered great, especially towards the end. Sadly they havent come out with any albums yet, but "wolves" will be out 18. of march, and you can listen to some of it here.
Else as the cartoon-war continues both danish and norwegian embassy in syria have been torched of and burned to the ground, in copenhagen there have been clashes between moslem kids and the police as neo-nazis burned the koran and had a demonstration on the outskirts of the danish capital. There have also been several left wing demonstrations against the nazis...
Else I'm supposed to go on this date tomorrow, but I don't know who it is I am dateing. Børge has set up a scheme on his own initiative, so I have no idea whatsoever. Only know I am going to meet up with her before the death cab for cutie consert, and that she knows who I am(spookey). Well, it'll probably be amuseing enough:) My last blinddate (also the first one) was kind of fun, so hopefully this will be too, anyway I'm gonna try to be in time for this one....
Note to self; must not steal ladder half an hour before dateing....

I'm sorry...

..., but I have to disappoint you, can't find that cd booklet anywhere (I've actually searched!), so Instead Ill give you two other neat pics of seventeen year old me as both bunnyjo and martin seemed so eager:P
Else the case of the infamous drawings of the great prophet is reaching further and further; tens of thousands demonstrating, bombings, storming of scandinvian embassies and burning of both danish and norwegian flags... I don't find other guys burning "our" flag provoking, the most disturbing is the stupidity of the norwegian "paper" behind this hammock. At least the danish paper have appologized, while these pricks just continues as the editor has gone for this holy crusade for freedom of speech. At the same time he wants more strict blasphemy laws to prevent people from mocking christendom.... Can somebody invent a timemachine for these people, and a freeride back to the dark medieval times where their view of the world might seem more righteous and common?
Yesterday was a pure pleasure at work, though I was quite tired after the extreemly exhausting lightrunning on wednesday:) Everything went smooth, no huzzle, no nada... The concert was also decent fun, and the audience wore huge grins. Think I'll check them out at bylarm as well... Tonight My latest novel is playing at Garage, never heard the band but as they are compaired with arab strap and belle & sebastian, it sounds like something I don't wanna miss...

Lost my virginity...

...as a light technitian (is that the proper title?) yesterday, while getting beyond drunk... There was a tribute-concert to Townes Van Zandt, with loads of good artists on the stage. As I opened the bar, and had a pretty calm and easy shift, I was asked if I could run the lights under the concert for free beer; Weee!!! So after two fernet branca (one for each foot) and a beer the concert started... As I had planned pretty decent in advance, I had brougth with me 2 beers, and where fit for a two hours of small zipping and trying out how it would be to run the lights. But as the concert went on, the guys in the bar brought me more and more to drink, so after a couple of more beers in an advancing tempo, I managed to drink myself completely deranged... Hmmm... perhaps intence beerdrinking and actually working isn't one of my greater skills after all:)
Tuesday was really slow, I ended up on garage with frode, martin, alex and christian. It was pretty calm, but really nice as I havent seen Frode and Martin for ages... Anyhow, a pretty weird thing happened; A girl, wich went a couple of years under me on high school, comes over with a huge grin and a cd-booklet with a picture of 17 year old me giving the finger. I had forgot it even existed... But it was kind of weird that she actually went around with it 13years after the extreemely crappy album came out. Result; me totally blushing and everybody else had an insane laugh... Well, pleased to bring you amusement, hehe
Well, tonight is Smalltown ramblers, a norwegian rockabilly band. The title from their first album says it all; "trucks, trains, and evil women"...

Post #102

Having a slow lo-fi monday over here with television personalities on the stereo singing about this girl with the magical ability of stopping traffic... In the media Denmark and Norway is making headlines all over the globe and riots in Gaza after some fucked up "news"paper pulled a stunt on the oh so holy muhammad. The danish news paper invited a handful of artist to draw some pictures of the prophet, wich made some hammock, then this close to fascist christian-fundamentalist "news"paper(they are against abortion, highly pro Israel, and anti anything that does not fit in their very narrow view of the world) publishes the same drawings to provoke. Hopefully the aggression towards norwegians in the middle east will wipe out the paper's own offices and not some of the ideal organisations actually working with aiding civilians in palestine and other arab countries....
Yesterday was a pretty weird one. It started off with a few hours on wow, with øyvind on his laptop, trying to get rid of a slight hangover from saturday. This project seemed pretty easy, so I went off to work at eight, as øyvind flew "home" to sweden. On the stage were susanna & the magical orchestra (pitchfork review). The place was sold out, but as the concert itself was very low at times, it was x-treemly calm. I never thought 160 more or less beerdrinking people could ever be that quiet. But the duo knew how to spellbind the crowd, and managed big time! Kind of strange to be behind the bar not being able to make a sound, or at least trying very hard not to... As the evening continued pretty calm with most regulars and some friends from other bars, I even got offers for two x-tra jobs this summer(!). And I also heard about this insane free concert in a park in Oslo this summer, not revealing anything yet as I'm not sure wether it's official or not; but it will be GRAND:) After that a guy I knew since I was fifthteen makes this hellhole of himself while we try to get him out, so after about a half hour of trying to talk him out we had to call the police. I'm happy he left before they arrived, that could have made things worse, but most certain he wont't remember himself... Anyway, pretty sad stuff...
Some more music for a slack monday;
- shotgun & jaybird; "secret" Lo-fi from smalltown canada...
- eagle*seagull; "death could be at the door" some weird despair from lincoln, nebraska...
- north atlantic explorers; "when my ship comes in" Sad, optimistic slowcore...
- duster; "orbitron" from the transmission, flux 7".
- mars accelerator; "failed connection" spacey indie from the late nineties...
- lush; "downer" live in chicago 1992...
- look blue go purple; "100 times" neat indie pop from new zealand.
- my enemy; "khreis" elektro-indie from gothenburg.
- speedmarket avenue; "I can tell by her eyes"
- my enemy; "my time coming" and some more of that swedish stuff...

Well, it's been...

...a week, and what trouble I might have got into is still a mystery to me... I guess I'll ever know, wich means no worries or a good story to laugh at...
Last week was kind of split; working my boots of, and being a total gamer-geek.
Last friday was the Datarock concert at john dee, as I overslept for the first band, wich was quasimojo, I just managed to get there for Ungdomskulen wich played grand this time. Last time they played, I complained about the songs was abit untight, but now it worked out grand. The sound was too low though, but you can hardly blame the band for that; Bad venue! Datarock was abit low too, but it worked out swell. Huge part of the crowd was strange enough not the usual rock-audience, but rather snobby west end people (the price for playing at blå?), so shitloads of young richman kids in all kinds of bright-colored hoodies, armwrists, and headbands, accompanied by little gum chewing blondes attended the concert. Kind of weird... Anyhow, ketil; good luck on your Japan and Australia tour:)
Saturday I was working as band contact on the Lorraine concert. It was this showcase thingey with shitloads of music-industrypeople. They even flew in 23 guys and girls from bmg/sony in uk to watch it... (Yes I know I'm a hypocrite working with these mean bastards, and even giving them special threatment). The concert went smooth and the place was filled to the brim, hopefully it'll get the band somewhere, which they deserve after years of hard work. I'm not a huge fan of their songs though, as it seems too popish versions of Placebo. Like Placebo meet Kent, wich on the other hand should be well sellable...
Sunday was calm latenight shift with øystein and a really crappy tip...
Monday I overslept working as band contact for ping! As they are very nice people the concert went off like hell; good band, overcrowded and enthusiastic audience, and a mood that went boom:)
After monday I didn't leave the basement untill yesterday! Was online and totally lost in the world of warcraft. After about 18hours online on tuesday, 13 on wednesday, and about 8 yesterday, Øyvind finally came to visit and drag me the hell away from the computer, and out to hit town, wich was kind of nice. Met up with christian, jens, natalie, erlend, miska, and andreas, and loads of others, but suddenly found myself as a total gamer-geek as we suddenly started a discusion on wow. -Alert! -Alert! I'm suddenly turning into this guy who can't seperate my real life and my in-game identity; spookey! Well, perhaps these days I've spend un-drinking is to blame. The weird thing about having white-days (non-alcoholic ones) is that my stamina seems to wither; I've slept about twelve hours(5-6 more than usual), and is fucked up and hung over as hell after a few beers yesterday.... So much for healthy days, hehe!Some new releases for the day;
- Test icicles; "circle square triangle" from their new "For Screening Purposes Only" album.
- Tarkio with "Tristan and Iselut" , Colin Meloy's (decemberists) college band...
- Robert Pollard; "love is stranger than witchcraft". Ex-Guided by voices frontman's new self titled solo project. Out now with "from a compound eye"
- Rocky votolato; "white daisy passing" Waxwing's frontman with his latest solo-album:"makers"

100Nok to the...
...first who can tell me what I did on friday... To be honest I had a blackout after the punk-concerts at the barricade... I woke up pretty early at home, no bruises, no new scares, and not too fucked up nerves... So here's the issue; at work yesterday jens could inform me about this very weird mail he got from me, and asked me what the hell I was doing on friday.The mail correspondence was like this;

Calexico AND Iron & wine.
Better find those records and start looking forward to it!

That's so "not" cool:) AAAAA I suddenly know where I am after shitloads of trouble with the cops:)
I can't remember sending this mail or having any trouble with the cops; so if any of you guys know what the fuck happened please let me know... The mail was send at 7.31 am, that is at a time where I thought I was in bed sound asleep... Obvioulsy not, haha:)

Fortune spam.

Well, last weeks my mailbox have been spamed with these extreemely long mails from one sara freder, wanting to sell me a magical picture of herself and shitloads of ways to gain all I want to. Last time I got an astral read she said I would get abit rich on the 5th of january, get richer on the 9th of january, and my life would be turned upside down in a positive direction on friday the 13th. Well, nothing really happened those days; supposedly thats because I made the wrong decisions, but now she can help me do the right one next time. Im so happy to announce that, again, she has started this process all over! She writes;
"I have calculated the most significant DAYS
As I said, your near future is packed with many positive events, so I will only mention the major ones here, the ones you mustn't miss no matter what.
1- Your first positive day is on Thursday, January 26, 2006. Yes, on that very date I foresee an unexpected income. This relatively large amount of money will help you deal with a fair share of your financial problems.
2- Your second positive day is Monday, January 30, 2006, be prepared for some good news concerning your personal life. I envision the return of a person who is very important to you, old friends finding each other again after months of separation. Friends will give you a hand in your problems and enliven your spirit.
3- Your third lucky day, Saturday, February 04, 2006, foretells a very nice gambling pot. I clearly see the number 7 followed by many other numbers. This second unexpected income will be so sizeable it will let you start new projects and see your future from a different angle. Your spirit will literally swell. On the same week, you will make a very interesting acquaintance that will guide you towards a number of considerable financial successes.
4- On Saturday, February 11, 2006, I foresee you thinking about a beautiful trip. I see you accompanied by people you love and who love you back. I see the sun, the sea, and you in the best of shape.
5- Later still, yet another, the third, unexpected income, on Tuesday, February 21, 2006. This time, it's going to be a much bigger amount. I cannot see very clearly but it may turn out to be an inheritance or a deed. This sudden downpour of money will finally have you standing on your own grounds.
6- In the weeks ahead, there is a great event coming up involving your friends and your feelings (I guess you've been waiting a long time for this!). It is on those days that you will make an interesting acquaintance that may very well lead to something important for you - if you act sensibly. You will finally get to accomplish a project that has been aching your heart for many long years.
7- I foresee an extremely positive event about to happen in your life. At the time I am writing these lines, I still don't know what this is about - you will know more when you read the Confidential In-Depth Study of Your FORTUNE (which I am preparing for you as we speak) - but I can tell you it's going to be an extremely pleasant experience...
You'll see for yourself, Rune, this is the truth: your life is just about to become the kind of life where everything goes your way.
This is why, to make sure that you can take full advantage of all these POSITIVE events awaiting you, I have decided to let you have what I have never been allowed to give away before: I will reveal to you ABSOLUTELY FREE and present to you as a confidential GIFT
The Powerful Secret of the WHEEL of FORTUNE
I must tell you that the Powerful Secret of the Wheel of Fortune has come into my possession from an illustrious psychic, who demanded my promise not to reveal it except in cases of extreme emergency. I have seldom shared this marvelous and powerful secret, aside for very special cases. This is the first time I am revealing this secret to an outside person, and it is you, Rune, because I truly believe you deserve it and need it.
This Powerful Secret will teach you how to easily earn large amounts of money regularly. Until today, I have only shared this secret with very few selected people, but today the Powerful Secret of the Wheel of Fortune is going to be yours, Rune."
Damned, I feel lucky, especially to be the first as she never given away this before, and the next because she only did this a few times before.... And she dont wanna give me my gift unless I buy something else from her; wich make me feel even more like her chosen one. But she hits the nail on the trip, as I am in Tromsø on the 11th... Better be sure to handle in the lotteryticket on the 4th, just in case....
Anyhow, datarock is playing on john dee tomorrow, and It's my day off:) So I gotta run down and get myself on the guestlist; in the mean time you can listen to "joe jackson" from Volcano, I' still excited!'s selftitled album from 2004, enjoy:)

Spend the...

...last day laxing in my basement. After work on sunday, and a major fuck up on my behalf (forgot to lock the sundays cash and safe at work!), wich fortunately went well; -Phew! Not a repeatable thing to do. Woke up about seven p.m and finished up Øysteins computer. After some pizza, beers and one and a half hours of cursing and cd-smashing, it was up on foot:) Too lazy to bother anything else I ended up playing wow all night and fell asleep pretty late on tuesday. Not set a foot outside since...
Today I saw this really weird, christian documentary" on the illuminati and 9/11. The "proofs" on the conspiracies was thight enough; but suddenly it turned into like a guide on what to do for christian, american citizens to avoid the new world order, and how to uphold the republic. A pretty weird tuoch of christian/republican moral standards, anti-capitalism, patriotism, and christian love for other christians, merged into a wild anti-bush/anti-fascist/anti-zionist soup... It kind of reminded me of the propaganda movie me and a few friends saw at the scientologists totally wacked out on acid ten years ago (a totally insane experience, and off course we eventually got tossed out). Had to turn of when they started with angels and spirituality on top of everything. After that I watched the entire "kingdom hospital" series. The storyline was kind of different than the danish original, but it was kind of good too. The merge between stephen kings horror touch, and Von trier's humour and sence for absurdities made a pretty good one. But now I'm a sucker for more mysterious horror (I really hate splatter and monster movies, they're just gorey, and not spooky at all...). Well getting readdy for work, and then Øyvind is coming back to town tomorrow...Hmm, thought I had more in mind, but you'll have to manage with some useless crap for now:P

I seem to have...
...fucked my mobile for the second time in 24 hours. I could not find yesterday untill like early afternoon, wich was ok as I spend the entire morning with the pastels on the stereo fixing Øysteins computer. Then I had it for about half an hour, and its still lost. Maybe time to clean, or just wait for my flatmate to get home, so he can call it up:) Latter one sounds more slack, and therefor suitable for tonight... Heres the pastels with "flightpaths to eachother" and "exotic arcade" from their mobile safari album. Nostalgia from 95...
Hmmm... think its nostalgia days over here, just been listening to the feelies for hours, and just went over to sex pistols "never mind the bollocks". The last one was the first record I bought, to my moms big frustration. After about two weeks of listening to it, of course "anarchy in the uk" and "god save the queen" went over and over again, I went off and got myself a ten cm tall blue razorsharp mohawk. Me and a friend went to my grandfathers boatworkshop and found some stuff for fixing plastic boats, and ironed it into the hair. Very effective as if was immpossible to bend afterwards, only bad thing I remember about it was that it was very difficult to sleep... After two weeks the entire thing just fell down to the side so it had to go away, but the provocative effect remained the same to mom; she was now a very active communist, mothering a twelve year old skinhead:)

After that my taste for music just grew, and I figured I needed money to get punkshirts, records, patches, spraycans, and all the other stuff I really needed, so it was time for a job... After I decided that employment was NOT punk, I started selling some anarchist-papers on the central square in our little town, wich prooved to be a decent income. I made twice as much as my fellow schoolmates who went on paperrounds. After this successful enterprice I could now afford loads of shirts, some decent boots, loads of patches and posters for my room, and not to mention a nosepiercing... The last one was it for my mom; she thought it so horrible that I was not allowed to eat dinner with the rest of the family, wich I at the moment thought grand, as I could then be in my room eating while listening to my slow growing punk-collection. I also found out that since I had some money coming in all the time,
I might as well join a squat. So after a week of discussions we broke down the door of an old wooden two storey building in the citycentre. We were five guys aged 14-16 (suicide project#1) all as naive as the others, angry, and restless as hell. After two weeks we got evicted, or more truthful, the house was totally destroyed as we were fucking up the mayday parade. After some hammock with the union, we placed ourselves with six black flags in front of the parade with banners quoting; "free weed for the people" and " all power to noone". The union tops all ran around complaining to the police, wich didnt seem to care about us at all. After shitloads of treaths from my mom, attending the march with her comrades in AKP(m-l), that I would be grounded for eternity and so on, the parade marched to its destination. After marching, and after everybody we could provoke had left, we went back to our newly accuired house just to discover that it was gone. Totally amazed we were standing totally bewildered looking at a sign that mentioned something about a parking lot, and an empty square. Not even a trace of a building there... On the way home to a week being grounded we decided to form a punkband....

Went...

...to the movies with Christian yesterday, and was supposed to watch King Kong. Not that keen I toggled along, but then christian suggested we should see "You me and everyone we know" instead. A fabulous choice!!! For the first time in ages I've been to the cinema without even thinking of a cigarette. The film is about a handful of people touching eachothers life in one way or another for a pretty short period of time, but after five minutes you get the point that this is not the ordinary divorce drama. The dialogs are grand, as well as the casting, and was topped by a totally hillarious net chat between a stranger and a small kid. I laughed myself to tears, and had really trouble stopping. Watch the trailer, but be sure to watch the entire movie as well. When it was over I just wanted to go see it again, one of these movies that really sticks and gives you that nice warm feeling inside:)
Now I'm definently gonna make myself a;" ))<>(( forever." t-shirt...

here I am...
.. trying to get tired at like 05.50 in the morning. Supposed to work tomorrow morning and thats mighty hard to imagine right now. Have just came home from second shift at work, and a pretty exhausting concert with supersilent... The concert itself should not be exhausting, but I was hungover as hell, as I had fernet branca for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner and bedtimesnack yesterday...(goddamit, I'll never learn that this is not a very good idea...) The concert was good, but way too much for my fragile posture to handle; my nerves could use a pretty nice tune up and some relly neat singer-songwriter taking care of the tuning... I NEED to sleep!!!
Anyhow in lack of what I really need, I stole this google-need-project from Martins blog; search "(your name) needs" on google... Results;
